MIGRAINE TREATMENT — MONTREAL, CA

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE APPROACH TO CHRONIC MIGRAINE

We offer Montreal, CA residents migraine treatment services that are safe and effective. Millions of people live with chronic migraines, which can have a devastating effect physically, mentally, and emotionally. Migraines are a particular type of headache that induces intense pain and discomfort and may be accompanied by other symptoms like a heightened sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and vomiting. If you have at least 15 headache days per month lasting between 4-72 hours, continuously for at least three months, you are likely in need of chronic migraine treatment.
As a trusted leader in the functional neurology world, Sharlin Health & Neurology is proud to provide migraine treatment to patients from all over, including Montreal and across Canada.

Warning Symptoms Of Chronic Migraine

Some migraines come with warning signs, also known as auras, which can happen up to an hour before the headache begins. Visual perturbations, such as flashes or moving lines, as well as sensory discomforts like tingling or numbness, may be part of the aura. Dizziness, tinnitus, nauseous, confusion, or difficulty speaking may also be experienced. One unique migraine condition called “late-life migraine accompaniment,” doesn’t always come with a headache but is a type of neurological episode. If you are suffering from chronic migraines in Montreal, our team of migraine treatment specialists can help you better understand your symptom patterns and the most effective treatments for your case.

GENETICS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS PLAY A ROLE IN MIGRAINE

Although the precise cause of migraines remains unclear, there are various genetic and environmental factors that have been associated with their development. Potential changes in the brainstem and/or trigeminal nerve may influence the levels of brain chemicals like serotonin and neuropeptides such as CGRP. Overall brain chemistry imbalances have been associated with migraine pain and other symptoms.

WHAT FACTORS TRIGGER YOUR MIGRAINE?

At Sharlin Health & Neurology, our goal is to identify the underlying cause of your migraine symptoms and offer personalized treatment. Chronic migraines can be triggered by a variety of factors, including exposure to certain chemicals, increased stress, hormonal imbalances, poor sleep, and consumption of certain foods and drinks. Environmental factors such as bright lights, excessive noise, and changing weather may also contribute to the onset of migraines. Additionally, the gut microbiome may play a role in regulating migraine episodes through gut-related neurotransmitters and immune activity.

WE DISCOVER THE ROOT CAUSES OF YOUR MIGRAINE

Our neurology team uses a unique, holistic approach when helping our Montreal patients. Building off of a foundation of “systems biology,” we can get to the root of various cellular imbalances that may be causing migraine episodes. Our Functional Medicine Operating System approach includes the Therapeutic Lifestyle Factors, along with the Medicine Matrix and Timeline. We explore 7 nodes of cellular function: Transport, Energy, Communication, Integrity, Biotransformation & Elimination, Assimilation, and Defense & Repair. With this information, our functional neurologists can provide targeted, personalized insights and migraine treatments.

We offer migraine, cluster, and tension headache relief for our Montreal Patients. Contact us today to learn more!

My program accepts out-of-state patients. This will be explained when you schedule a telephone consultation.
